At one point in my life, I was able to travel some.Ā  The area that resonated with me most was the ā€œhigh desertā€ southwest of the USA.Ā  If you’ve seen my ā€œAboutā€ page, you know that story.Ā  As I write this, I feel uncomfortable doing any sort of post at all… but I’m going to share a little about my adopted home.Ā 

I’m mortified to remember a long ago conversation with a man who enthused about his fondness for the beauties of the desert regions of the USA.Ā  He asked if I thought it was beautiful and I’m ashamed to say that I exclaimed, ā€œBut it’s all brown.ā€Ā  That was and continues to be the comment I’ve heard most often from other people.Ā  Back then, I was still ā€œCalifornia dreaming,ā€ (it took 20 years for me to give up…
