Excavation of the open court of the Mayor of Thebes and Fourth Priest of Amun, Karabasken (TT 391) started in 2013. Three years of work in the court yielded a large amount of exciting discoveries. One of the most important ones was the discovery of the lost High Stewart of the God’s Wife, Padibastet. Padibastet re-inscribed the entrance doorframe and vestibule of the tomb of Karabasken. In addition his stela was carved on the west wall of the sun court of the tomb. The research of our team member Dr. Erhart Graefe identified this previously unknown High Stewart as the grandson of Pabasa A bearer of the same titles and owner of TT 279 in North Asasif. Most of the owners of the beautiful monumental tombs of the North Asasif bore the same title. Yet Padibastet reused a Kushite tomb in a different necropolis. It must be evidence of his…

Animal Spirits: The Heron & The Falcon Revisited

falconOn my recent trip to Mount Shasta, I had two animal spirit encounters, not during my hikes, but on the drives beginning and ending my trip. On the drive north towards the mountains, I saw three falcons perched on fencing along some farmlands within the span a few minutes. The day before I had read a blog post (sorry, can’t remember whose), which focused on the symbolism of the animals in some of the Tarot cards, particularly the Nine of Pentacles, which has a falcon in it. I took a mental note of this because this month I had and have been getting the Nine of Pentacles nearly every day in my personal daily spread. It also came up in at least half of the September Monthly Tarotscopes and in this week’s Weekly Oracle Card Reading (see videos below).
