Why Do We Need A Hero!?

This question has been lingering in my mind for many years, but now it is more emphatic and clear before my eyes. It has also particularly stressed my mind since I have been trying to help young people in Iran and how some of them (especially those who are not inside Iran but in Western countries) are waiting for someone to come and help them drop down the Mullahs regime.

Besides that, I noticed it not only in Iran but in the West, even in the USA, as many people are looking for a rescuer to bring them and their country to the top!

Apart from the monarchists’ opposition, who wished to see the king back on the throne, most people genuinely tried to help free Iran. However, I noticed they struggled to communicate and engage in discussion. It’s understandable, given how long they’ve lived under a dictatorship—one must learn democracy! We should realize that if someone has different opinions from ours, they are not our enemy. In fact, differing viewpoints can provide valuable perspectives on an issue.
I made an effort to help them understand this concept, though it wasn’t easy. It’s interesting to compare this situation to the current state in the U.S., where one candidate calls another an enemy. I often heard Mr. Trump say in his speeches, “Don’t trust the other side; they are against you and your fortune,” referring to the Democrats as enemies. This rhetoric reminds me of the Shah’s regime, where anyone opposing the Shah was considered an enemy of the people and the country. We see similar behaviour in the Islamic regime today.

I think the readers of my blog already know about my point of view on the behaviour of the world superpower and their lobbyism towards the Third World, especially Iran and my complaint about their trading with the Mullah’s regime. Therefore, I don’t need to emphasize my belief in their corruption. Still, I wonder how some people could choose an alternative like Donald Trump. We might think there are always idiots in the world, but I even see some intellectuals whom I know and value are in between (like great writers in WordPress or on Facebook, whom I appreciate much) and whose reactions are focused on the absurdity and corruption of the current rulers. Haven’t we experienced so often that changing rulers does not affect improving the problems in the world? But should we believe here comes the superman?!! This wish has existed since eternity and will remain as a wish forever!

I don’t have anything against anyone. I believe a person is not very important, but the system behind runs the wheels of the world order, not any specific person. The USA is a superpower and has a significant influence on the world. You may think of a conspiracy, but I tell you, I have my own. However, I believe that the president of the US does not seem to have as much power as he seems to have. There is a system of the New World Order, which controls everything happening throughout the world.

By the way, Mr Trump is a believer and a religious man. Is he the new last prophet?

Now, back to Trump. I myself had not heard his name in world politics until he ran for president in 2016. I might be nobody, but here is his political career via Wikimedia:

In 2011, Trump speculated about running against President Barack Obama in the 2012 election. He appeared first at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February 2011 and gave speeches in early primary states. In May 2011, he announced he would not run. Trump’s presidential ambitions were generally not taken seriously at the time. Actually, he wasn’t taken seriously. Even at the beginning of the 2016 election, he looked like a jock! But the keyword he used permanently, “I make America great again”, had worked on the mass!

I have heard there is a movie called The Apprentice, which faced many challenges and required significant effort to reach the screen, but it has finally been released. This biographical drama explores Donald Trump’s career as a real estate businessman in New York during the 1970s and 1980s, along with his relationship with attorney Roy Cohn. The film is directed by Ali Abbasi and written by Gabriel Sherman. It features Sebastian Stan as Trump, Jeremy Strong as Cohn, Martin Donovan as Trump’s father, Fred, and Maria Bakalova as Trump’s first wife, Ivana. I believe it is worth watching, not only because the director is an Iranian-Danish filmmaker!😉😅

For me, he can never be trusted; I would rather be confronted with corrupt rulers, which I can handle!!

Now, let’s focus on the main issue: the longing for a redeemer, saviour, or hero. Throughout human history, people have gazed at the sky and anticipated the arrival of a Messiah. Consider the three major religions: Jews (still awaiting), Christians (experienced once and now awaiting his return), and Muslims (Shiites) anticipating the arrival of the twelfth Imam, Mehdi.

Anyway, I shared my opinion, hoping that it offended no one! On the other hand, the idea of seeing a woman, Kamala Harris, as the first female president is appealing, although Barack Obama, representing Black Americans, didn’t achieve everything we had hoped for!

  1. Your perspective is greatly valued, my friend. You are a first-hand source of information about Iran because you grew up there, and communicate with young people who reside in and outside of the country… Many of who thirst for democracy.

    Perhaps our difference of perspective on this topic can be summarized as follows: You are a pro-western Persian. And I am a pro-Persia Westerner! In the sense that I care about their well-being and prosperity.

    Democracy is ideal for all countries, but ‘killing in the name’ (of it) is unacceptable – the means do not justify the ends. And the end itself has become corrupted. The New World Order’s modus operandi is to destroy countries and rebuild them. The rich profit from both stages of the vicious cycle.

    I overlook the suffering you and the Iranian people have endured at the hands of dictatorship. Furthermore, because I am young I certainly overlook and take for granted the priviliges of democracy, and the quality of life I have enjoyed as a result of living in the wealthiest country on Earth. I am lucky in many ways.

    Democracy is the ideal, and I would love to see the people of Iran, and all beautiful people of this planet experience and benefit from democracy like I have. *Pure Democracy* (We are losing it!) End the lobbying. End the corruption. We must exercise our democratic rights of free speech, right to protest, etc. while we still have them. To ensure Peace and Democracy prevail.

    • Oh, my dear mate. You are not young but ripe!
      Democracy might be a goal for humans, the same as suffering.
      Abraham Lincoln said, “Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people.” But Winston Churchill uttered, “Democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.” However, Plato argued: Democracy… is a charming form of government, full of variety and disorder, and dispensing a sort of equality to equals and unequal alike.
      Anyway, the Greeks can only explain what it really means. Nevertheless, education and correctly raising children are the only ways of achieving our glorious goal. What a world… what a world, my friend. It is dispiriting!😐🧐🖖

  4. Wow, what depth and insight you have shared with us, thank you so much Aladin! As you might guess, I prefer poetry to politics every day of the week. I also prefer to search for the hero/ine ‘inside’ myself, rather than look for them in the ‘outer’ world. I didn’t always think this way, I had many hero/ines for sure, but since mid-life have grown to know that ‘when the student is ready, the teacher frequently disappears!’ (not ‘appears’ as the old saying goes!).

    This is the place I find myself now and I like it, a lot. A place where I’m no longer a caterpillar in life but not yet a butterfly (my daimon). I’m also hoping that Kamala Harris will be the next US president. The rest of the world, I believe, is holding its breath in anticipation of this forthcoming election. Less than two weeks, wow, the last five years has flown by! Wonderful art and music too, deep gratitude. Love and light, Deborah.

    Unfortunately you are right, we are waiting for a savior, a superhero but without perhaps even believing in them too much

    In Italy the few who went to vote in the elections mostly chose the right wing, the extreme right, as a guarantee of order and stability. Most of these politicians, with little political experience, consider anyone who has different opinions an enemy who threatens their stability and their person. However, apart from the great proclamations repeated loudly as in Orwell’s novel 1984, I have not seen any of their promises kept. Consider that the much-vaunted increase in minimum pensions has just resulted in an increase of 3 (three) euros per month,

    I don’t believe anything in political fields anymore… While they are talking about peace they are figthing… While they are talking about democracy, they are holding all the strings in their hands… Political understandings, stances, actions have changed a lot… I must belong to a very old age, when there were heroes… You have expressed/shared very well, just I feel myself, out of this world… Who is strange me, or world I really don’t know… Thank you, Love, nia

  8. I cherish the opportunity to learn from others around the world, Aladin. I gain perspectives that I can’t get anywhere else. As you probably know, the US has a critical election next week where we will decide if our democracy is worth the hard work required to keep it going. I like living in a democracy, but I think capitalism, where big decisions come down to valuing money over people, destroys the fairness and equality that a true democracy should bring. Money and power is corrupting, and the US (and world) face the personification of corruption in Trump. Harris is human, and humans are far from perfect, but I don’t need a hero. I need someone who leads with empathy and reason. Bless you for your wisdom and honesty, my friend.

  9. A question I have pondered often, as I watch sheeple be herded along.

    However, I do not need a hero. I have many heroes. 

    My heroes are living and dead. They are: musicians, sculptors, dancers, painters on canvas, sketchers on paper, creative writers, poets, philosophers, nature’s flora & fauna and lovers, etc.

    Do I like all of the product they create? No, but those are my heroes.

    Good leaders of and for the people are necessary, else the anarchy of haters takes over.

    Social leaders, non religious, smart with the economy/economics and compassionate thinkers are who I would  happily exercise my right to vote for. Unfortunately, I am left to chose from partisan party leaders who may or may not have some or none of those qualities, but never all. 

    Still, a leader is a leader.

    A hero is a hero. 

    You know, if someone saved my life, they would be a hero to me. They would be my hero for that 1 thing, not everything all the time. 

    I think that is what you speak of; that people look to the skies for, a hero for all things all the time. Correct me if I misunderstand!

    I hope Kamala Harris wins the presidency of the USA!

    • Thank you very much for describing your thoughts. I know what you mean, but I would explain it like this: We have a hero and a role model. I also admire many artists and thinkers whose ideas I follow. I consider them role models rather than heroes. However, if Superman saves my life, I will say, “There’s my hero!!”

      Here, I wanted to discuss the importance of individuality and emphasize that we are not merely a mass that requires leaders. The values of each individual truly matter. This is my understanding of democracy—love and peace, my good friend. 🤗🙏💖
