A Merry Christmas to All beloved Friends!

Standard

Germans say, “Humans are creatures of habit” (Gewohnheitstier); therefore, I couldn’t stop posting my second one! And, of course, I didn’t want to fail to send my heartfelt wishes for a Merry Christmas to my friends.
We all age, whether we want to or not, so here’s a satire I once saved many years ago from a Facebook friend whose I don’t remember, just to cheer up the mood.

Aged!

  1. When one door closes and another door opens, you are probably in prison.
  2. To me, “drink responsibly” means don’t spill it.
  3. Age 60 might be the new 40, but 9:00 pm is the new midnight.
  4. It’s the start of a brand new day, and I’m off like a herd of turtles.
  5. The older I get, the earlier it gets late.
  6. When I say, “The other day,” I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago.
  7. I remember being able to get up without making sound effects.
  8. I had my patience tested. I’m negative.
  9. Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn’t fit any of your containers.
  10. If you’re sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and say, “Did you bring the money?”
  11. When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say “nothing,” it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing.
  12. I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever.
  13. I run like the one winded.
  14. I hate when a couple argues in public; and I missed the beginning and don’t know whose side I’m on.
  15. When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, “Why, what did you hear?”
  16. When you do squats, are your knees supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminium can stuffed with celery?
  17. I don’t mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited.
  18. When I ask for directions, please don’t use words like “east.”
  19. Don’t bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That’ll freak you right out.

Though there is no Vietnam War anymore, Simon & Garfunkel’s Christmas song is still relevant, I am afraid! We might just keep praying for the end of any brutalities from the mighties! Peace and love to you all.πŸ™πŸ¦‹πŸ’–πŸŒΉ

  1. Dear Aladin, ha-ha, loving your ‘aged list’, most especially number 19! Thanks for the laughs. Listening to Simon and Garfunkel, today I’m choosing to focus on the harmony not the noise (news) in the background …

    “Silent night
    Holy night
    All is calm
    All is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.”

In fact this year I’ve avoided news programmes because they’re always deeply upsetting and I just end up feeling overwhelmed and distressed. Sadly, it’s been a year of non-stop reporting of politics and war.

Here at the end of the year, wishing you and your loved ones much love, peace and rest over Christmas and the New Year. (ps. remember to take a break, when you can, from work!) Love and light, Deborah.

    • That might be a solution: to listen to the holy silence in this song. It can only be achieved through yoga, as I did in Iran during my resistance, and I found peace through meditation. I believe in you, and your intention, and I try to follow. Love and love to you, my lovely sister.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ’–πŸŒΉπŸ€—πŸ₯°πŸŒŸπŸ

  2. Haha. Poor Mona Lisa. I relate to her hands. I joke that my fat puffs out the wrinkles on my face. I guess I’m just “well pickled” that way. But my hands have not been blessed to look younger.

Thanks for the song too. I had forgotten Simon and Garfunkel did a holiday song. Hugs.

  4. My dear friend, forgive me but I could not help smiling at the first of your sayings cos years ago we had a friend who said when a door shuts another one opens to hit you in the face. Except being in Dundee, face was not the word used. Hit either. BUT I think your first one is the same sentiment. And some things are universal. All you have here is that. The best to you and yours xxxxxx

      • LOL
I really like to have some fun, at times.
        Best to you dear Aladin!
Oh, our furnace broke. It was -18 C. We had no heat for 4 days. Now, I am so behind blogging. I’m starting to catch up a bit!

      • Oh, my dear Resa, our furnace has been broken since Wednesday, too. Even though it is about -1 degrees outside, we are still freezing because the landlord says we are on holiday and must wait until the new year! 😑😜
Dr Jung would say it is synchronisation between us, but it is still too cold! πŸ₯Ά
By the way, I am glad to know you are safe and warm now.πŸ’–πŸ’₯😘🌹

      • Yes, I know what you mean; our thoughts’ connection makes us feel warm, which greatly helps.
In Germany, when someone feels cold, they say: mach dir warme Gedanken: think warm thoughts! LOL!πŸ˜…πŸ€—πŸ’–πŸŒΉ
